Photinia serratifolia Crunchy
Serrated Photinia is a Taiwanese species, vigorous, with stronger branches but less branched than Photinia x fraseri hybrids, and large, leathery, serrated leaves. Young coppery leaves become chocolate brown then dark green in summer. Flowering takes place in spring, delicate panicles of white flowers are followed by small bright pink berries. Protect from cold winds until established. Can be grown as an unusual and attractive hedge or a as a large shrub or small tree.
