Bamboo Obelisk
A beautiful, hybrid, non-invasive bamboo, Fargesia Obelisk (F. murieliae x F. nitida) is an evergreen, clump-forming, quite fast-growing bamboo with an upright, columnar habit. The long, lance-shaped leaves are a vibrant green, and retain their brightness through the winter; they contrast well with the dark culms (stems) of its nitida parent. Umbrella bamboo Obelisk can be grown as a handsome stand-alone specimen in smaller gardens, or as a hedge or screen, planted about 2β-2β8β/60-80cm apart, in larger gardens. Give itΒ plenty of water, as it is not drought-tolerant, and mulch well. Give a nitrogen-rich feed occasionally.Β
