Cherry Sunburst
With Cherry Stella as one of its parents, Canadian-bred Cherry Sunburst is the first self-fertile black cherry, cropping a little earlier than Cherry Stella. The fruit is large, glossy and almost black, with a very good, sweet flavour and texture. Very easy to pick.Self-fertile, but may crop better with a different variety of cherry nearby. Vigorous, spreading tree, heavy, regular cropper – thin fruits if crop is too heavy. Best trained against a warm wall, so the fruit can be protected from birds. Prune only in summer.
